Russia hasn't just limited its focus to Ukraine, its decided that it now wants to grow it's presence in the Western Hemisphere. There were talks earlier this year with Cuba, Venezuela, and Nicaragua to establish military bases in the countries. With tensions heightened, Russia has focused its attention again in making its presence known in our back yard. We are getting closer and closer to a very disturbing situation, with what looks to be a the makings for a WWIII and new Cold War it will be interesting to see if the leaders of the United States and Europe stick with warnings and sanctions or switch tactics and go with a more hardline approach in dealing with Russia.
Putin and Castro meeting outside Moscow

I agree with you post 100% and I also feels as though Russia is behaving as a bully and possessing the mentality that EVERYONE should fear them.
ReplyDeleteFor the safety of the world, I hope that we and other allies stick to our plans. Russia has shown how much they can do by its interest in Western countries. These countries will no doubt allow it due to their economic standing. If the situation escalates then tactics should change to prevent any wars.
